7-10 November
+ After intesive walks in Torres del Paine, it was time to move on. We continued heading Northwards, crossing again the border into Argentina because we wanted to visit one of the most amazing natural wonders in the planet: The glaciar Perito Moreno.
+ The Perito Moreno is a constantly moving glaciar. It advances 2m per day. It is actually the only glaciar in the world which is not melting away because all what it loses daily, it gains it again (in one side of the glaciar it is all the year snowing). The surface of the glaciar is larger than Buenos Aires. It is the 3rd largest piece of ice in the world (after Antartica and Greenland).
+ What attracks so many turists to this place is to observe how big juncks of ice fall from one side of the glaciar into the water. The glaciar is 60m high, so the sound it makes when the ice fall is incredible. People just stand in front of it and wait for ours to see the pieces falling down. We saw a big one falling and it is very shocking.
+ We wanted to go a bit further and not only observe it from afar. So we joined an excursion to walk on the glaciar and to explore its center. With our crampons on, we start the cool trekk and we encountered beautiful lagoons, bottomless cracks and breathtaking landscapes.
