The charming Luang Prabang - 26/04-30/04

+ After an amazing bus-ride from Luang Nam Tha which was an experience on its own (10,5 hours for 350km!!!, incl. chicken & birds as passangers) we arrived in Luang Prabang, lying lazy at the Mekong river
+ We decided to take here a little break from the travelling & to stay a few days more
+ Luang Prabang is very romantic, has a lot of beautiful Wats (=temples) to visit and Dani got a bit 'templed-out'... :-)

+ In Luang Prabang is a great night market with beautiful handcrafts from the hill-tribe minorities and great views from the surrounding hills

+ The city was so hot, so one day we spent at the waterfalls close-by: BEAUTIFUL!!!

Halong Bay: A Natural Wonder in the border between reality and your imagination

Halong Bay, 3-6 May

+ Little we can write about such a beautiful and extraordinary place. Immersed among its more than 4000 islands, with your kayak and no other noise than the water and the birds,  you  wonder whether you are still in the planet earth........ and after turning the corner in that big rock, you find yourself surrounded by floating fishermen village: Legendary!!

+ To top up, there are beautiful limestone caves....

Cat Ba Island

+ Cat Ba Island, the biggest island in Halong Bay and the only one inhabited, hides a huge jungle surrounded by mountains, perfect for a trekking to its top.

Vietnam's Capital: Hanoi

 1st May

+ Can you imagine to see 1 million motorbikes all together? ok... can you now imagine all those motorbikes in a street no wider than 6 meters with another million people shouting, eating and crossing the street at the same time??? well... that's Hanoi.
+ In this city you learn many thing about Vietnamese culture, but perhaps the most important lesson: how to cross the street in such mess without being run over.

+ We visit Hanoi with our free guided tour made by the local student "Cham". Very cool and really hot day.  A bit of culture, the Temple of literature, Ho chi Min's mausoleum, the one-pillar Pagoda and about 35 degrees....

+ After a suffocating tour around the city, visit to a local handcraft and pottery market where we made our pieces of art: Kinga an ashtray and Dani a mug and a SPOON . Very cute!

+ And who would love the little green spoon ???
