+ We left Ilha Grande earlier than we wanted, but the weather on the island didn't change. So, we arrived to Rio having an entire week for the Cidade Maravilhose. As this meant the very last stop for our travel, we arrived with mixed feelings and left one eye crying that the traveling is over and one eye smiling to see family & friends soon.
+ Our hostel was in Ipanema, just a 2-minutes walk to the beach and close to a shopping street. So, of course, one day we spent at the Ipanema beach and one other shopping in the area. We also went to the Hipie market in Ipanema on Sunday, to Santa Teresa (but the famous little tram wasn't working anymore due to an accident a few weeks earlier) and strolled through Leblon & Lapa. The first two nights we went out for some Caipis in the bars streets of Leblon & Ipanema, the two richest neighbourhoods of Rio.

Important souveniers shopping: who will get this present...?
+ The third night, we finally went to Lapa to a Samba bar. The group that played actually didn't play Samba according to Carole & Adrian, our Frenchie friends, but we didn't care too much.
+ Here the short story about Carole & Adrian: we stayed with them in the same hostel in Mendoza, Argentina, looong time ago. We went out one night with them, had some great chatting during several evenings, exchanged our blog addresses and knew that they would travel back home in December too. But our ways seperated in Mendoza, them heading to Santiago de Chile and us to Bariloche. Being on the Pão de Açúcar (the Sugarloaf mountain) in Rio on a beautiful sunny day, we just bumped into them again!!!

+ The last day, we spent it on the famous Copacabana beach, enjoying the sunshine and all the people passing by selling whatever you can or cannot imagine. |In the evening, we met Carole & Adrian again, in Lapa, in the unique Rio Scenarium. |It was a great evening, in a beautiful place and the right farewell with two other awesome travelers.
